We leave Ruedesheim bright and early (well, early) for a Rhine cruise on the Koln-Dusseldorfer line, and our boat is the "Berlin." It's a popular one for busloads of tourists who pile on but as luck would have it, the frigid weather out on the desk soon drives everyone inside except loons like us. John doesn't seem bothered by the cold weather but Kate thinks we have mistakenly gone to the Antarctic. The sun has a hard time emerging from the clouds but we seem some great scenery nevertheless. A variety of small Rhineland towns and castles drift past on our three-hour cruise to Boppard. Leaving Boppard, we take a series of three trains to Mainz, Mannheim, and our final destination of Munich.
