Arriving in Munich around 6pm, we rendezvoused with our friend Edwin, who had just flown in from San Jose for the Oktoberfest opening weekend. The festivities don't officially start until Saturday morning, so we take ourselves to the Hofbrauhaus instead.

And everybody had plenty of beer. We met two vacationing motorcycle-jacket salesmen from Korea, a visitor from China, a couple from L.A., six happy Irishmen (drinking enough for twelve), a German camerman, a couple of Edwin's old friends from his previous company, and maybe a few others, including a waiter with a sense of humor. There were also a few X-rated moments.
