Day 7 -- to Amsterdam and beyond

We are awakened after a more or less restful night on the overnight train from Munich to Amsterdam, and it's a beautiful day in the Netherlands. In Amsterdam, we enjoy some of the interesting sights, such as the zillions of bicycles, unique museums and the canals.

We then head out to The Hague, which we found to be a beautiful and interesting city, and we hop on the tram to the beach. Kate finds a fishy friend and insists on touching the North See and gathering shells, and we both enjoy a cappuccino at one of the numerous restaurants, this one called "Bora Bora." Hmmmm. Then it's off to see Haarlem, the "city of monuments," and there are plenty in the market square. John especially likes the reconstruction technique he spies on an old building, with only its facade remaining!

Returning to Amsterdam, we have dinner at a nearby Fondue restaurant that was recommended by Edwin. Tomorrow, we've be tilting at windmills!
