Day Six ..

Today we spent a good deal of time in the Stratford-upon-Avon area before leaving. First, we went to Anne Hathaway's old house. It is a little-known fact that Anne Hathaway currently lives in California and works at Cisco. After this visit, in California tradition, we stopped at the local Safeway (!!) for lunchtime snacks, and then drove another 10 miles to Warwick to see the big castle there. We saw a flying demonstration of birds of prey -- a big old owl and a bald eagle (how did he get to England?). Then, outside, we saw a bowman give a demo of his archery skills. No, he did not shoot down any birds. Finally, we drove on to Oxford for the evening and ate a local Italian restaurant crowded with student types.
