We are surprised at the level of service on Lufthansa. For a flight of just an hour and half, we are served a full course meal with choice of hot entree. The pilot is most apologetic for the 15 minute delay in the flight due to weather conditions. The crew is incredibly cheerful and accommodating.
We rent an Audi station wagon in Munich and John is eager to drive on the Autobahn. Top speed achieved -- 180 km/h. We find our Munich hotel without too many problems, lounge around a bit and then head to our favorite spot, the Hofbrauhaus, for some Wiener Schnitzel and beer, etc. etc. We share a table with two young Dutch students who are having a good time in Munich and everyone takes interminable rounds of photos of everyone else, the band, the ambiance, etc. etc. It's an anything-goes kind of place.
